Quantum Readiness

Post-quantum exposure calculator

Data you send today has to stay secret for years. Check whether it outlives your own migration plan — and your own assumptions.

10 years

Contracts, health records and government data often run decades. Pricing data may be worthless in a month.

2031

Be honest. Most estates have not started the inventory, let alone the migration.

2035

Your assumption, not our prediction. Credible estimates vary by decades and anyone quoting you a precise year is selling something.

Exposed

Data you send today must stay secret 1 year past your own assumption.

A payload transmitted today has to remain confidential until 2036. You have assumed the capability to decrypt it exists from 2035. Nobody needs a quantum computer to capture that traffic — only to read it later.

  • 2026–2031migration window
  • 2035assumed arrival
  • 2036secrecy ends for data sent today
Years of traffic sent before migration completes
5

All of it capturable today, under classical cryptography.

Data sent on the last day of migration stays secret until
2041

Still past your assumed arrival year — finishing the migration does not clear it.

This is arithmetic, not a forecast. It takes your three assumptions and reports what they imply. The number it cannot give you is the one that matters most — how many interfaces in your estate carry data with a long confidentiality requirement. That requires an inventory. Why that is the hard part.
