Scenario assumptions
Compare monthly or annual compensation on a consistent annual basis. These are gross amounts; tax and take-home pay are not calculated.
Values are not converted between currencies.
Enter assumptions, then compare both scenarios.

Enter both scenarios and select Compare scenarios. Validated results and visuals appear together.
An annual amount increasing from 100,000 to 110,000 is an increase of 10,000, or 10%.

Scenario JSON saves names, inputs, currency and conventions for this tool. Import it to resume. Results JSON records the calculation and is not an import format. No automatic saving occurs.
Worked example and interpretation
An annual amount increasing from 100,000 to 110,000 is an increase of 10,000, or 10%. Reset restores this example in both scenarios. Other calculation modes use the retained example assumptions.
These deterministic illustrations do not establish credit eligibility, investment performance, statutory compliance or final lender terms. Inspect the formulas and timing conventions before using a result in a decision.

What is the percentage change when both pay amounts use the same annual basis?
- Enter current and proposed gross compensation and choose monthly or annual for each amount.
- Compare the annualized amounts, the absolute change and the percentage change.
- Save the scenarios locally if you need to revisit the comparison. Assess taxes, benefits and payment conditions separately.
A worked example
Increasing annual gross compensation from 100,000 to 110,000 gives an annual increase of 10,000 and a 10% salary change.
Common questions
Can I compare monthly pay with an annual offer?
Yes. Monthly gross pay is multiplied by 12 before the comparison. For example, 10,000 per month and 132,000 per year represent a 10% increase on the same annual basis.
Does the result show take-home pay?
No. It compares entered gross amounts. Taxes, deductions, benefits, variable-pay conditions and employer contributions are not calculated.
Can a salary change be negative?
Yes. A proposed amount below the current annualized amount gives a negative change. The current gross amount must be positive so that the percentage calculation has a defined denominator.
